What is a Console Table?

Console tables are wide , fairly shallow tables that stand against a wall. They are often found in hallways, and can be referred to as a hall table too.

Traditionally they would have been attached to the wall, and would only have had two legs, giving them a more dainty look. These days though, most console tables will be free standing.
